Learn how to make Air Fryer Cheese Scones—crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and packed with cheese! Quick, easy, and ready in 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup milk (or buttermilk)
  • 1 egg (for brushing, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add cold butter and rub into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Stir in the grated cheese.
  • Slowly add milk, mixing gently until a soft dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough to 1-inch thickness and cut into circles or triangles.
  • Place in the air fryer basket, ensuring space between each scone.
  • Air fry for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before serving warm with butter.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, brush with egg wash before air frying.
  • Store scones in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
