Description

This Cheesecake Factory bread recipe lets you recreate the famous sweet wheat brown bread at home! Soft, slightly sweet, with oat topping and perfect texture.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour

  • 1 cup bread flour

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1/4 cup molasses

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 tbsp instant yeast

  • 1 1/4 cups warm water

  • Pinch of salt

  • Rolled oats (for topping)


Instructions

  • Mix whole wheat flour, bread flour, cocoa powder, yeast, and salt.

  • In another bowl, combine warm water, molasses, honey, and melted butter.

  • Slowly add wet ingredients to dry, mixing until a dough forms.

  • Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  • Let it rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.

  • Shape into slender loaves, brush with water, and sprinkle oats on top.

  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For an extra-soft texture, let the shaped loaves rise again for 30 minutes before baking.
