Description

These small batch chocolate chip cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with melty chocolate. Perfect for when you want a few cookies without leftovers!


Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, browned
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chopped chocolate or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then let it cool for a few minutes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  5. Sift in flour, baking soda, and salt, then fold in the chocolate.
  6. Scoop dough into balls and place them on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.
  8. Let cookies cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For chewier cookies, add an extra egg yolk.
  • Dough can be frozen for up to 3 months and baked straight from frozen.
